1. Tarragona

Continuing the Roman theme, you can visit the Roman circus, one of the best-preserved in Europe, where chariot races once took place.

We also recommend walking along the ancient city walls, which once reached up to 3,500 meters in length. In addition, you can admire the cathedral by heading through Carrer Major, a lively street filled with a wide variety of shops.

The Basilica of Santa Maria de Montserrat began construction in the 16th century and was rebuilt after it was destroyed during the Peninsular War. The current façade was completed in the 20th century.

The old town is known as the “Vila Closa” because it is enclosed by defensive walls. The medieval core is full of narrow, slightly steep streets, but it is easy to explore.
